Paws on the Run

Dear Tuckahoe Families,
We are excited to announce our first-ever Paws on the Run Fun Run, a school-wide event supporting Paws of War, an organization dedicated to helping veterans and first responders through life-changing programs involving service animals!
As part of our ongoing Veterans Appreciation initiatives, we are challenging our Tuckahoe Tigers to come together and raise $4,000 for Paws of War! Over the past several years, our school community has raised $3,000 for veteran-support organizations, and we are hoping to make this year's fundraiser our most successful yet!
On Monday, November 9, 2026, during periods 8–10, students in Pre-K through 8th grade will participate in a traditional Fun Run on our school field. This event will also count toward the PE Presidential Fitness Test, allowing students to combine physical activity with the importance of community service and giving back.
🏃 How Far Will Students Go?
Students will complete laps based on their grade level:
Pre-K–2nd Grade: 2 laps
3rd–4th Grade: 5 laps (½ mile)
5th–8th Grade: 10 laps (1mile)
Students may run or walk to complete their laps. We encourage everyone to participate at a comfortable pace and enjoy the experience!
🐾 How to Register and Fundraise
All students must register online to participate in the Fun Run. However, fundraising is completely optional! Students do not need to raise or donate money to participate.

Complete the registration form.
Once registered, students will receive a personal fundraising webpage that can be shared with family and friends.
Families may collect donations online or use the provided pledge sheet to collect cash and checks. Please make checks payable to Paws of War.
Our suggested individual fundraising goal is $20, but every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

$500 Raised: Patriotic Sunglasses
$2,000 Raised: School-Wide Pajama Day
$4,000 Raised: Tape Mrs. Terry to the Wall!

Students can also earn special rewards for their efforts!
Register online and receive a $5 donation: Homework Pass
Raise $20: Choose between a Patriotic Duck or Keychain
Raise $100 or more: Chance to announce a class over the microphone!
Complete your laps: Custom Paws on the Run Medal!
👟 Important Event Reminders
Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate sneakers.
Bring a labeled water bottle.
The Fun Run will take place during the school day and will be a student-and-staff-only event.
In the event of inclement weather, the Fun Run will be rescheduled, and families will be notified of the new date.
